Maine hammer Posted September 11, 2015 Share Posted September 11, 2015 (edited) I have the means to make a stainless steel water cooled tuyere, the only thing that is holding me back is I do not know how thick of material to use. Suppose you could go thinner depending on the grade of stainless, but i think in this case you want it thin enough for the water to carry away the heat but thick enough to withstand some hot spots. That being said, I just use 3/4 back iron pipe and swap it with a new piece once or twice a year and never got around to building my water tank - it's a cheap enough consumable.
