101 H-B
Pre-1850 with those triangular ends of the feet, likely 1820-1850. Agree, the cross mark is Wilkinson.
DSW
I like the lines of it.
Frosty
Welcome aboard Stan, glad to have you mate. Put it on a scale and you'll know what it weighs now, not what it weighed when it was made or their best guess. Are you going to put her to work? Have you done a rebound test, bearing or hammer? stan
Thanks all, surprised how old this thing is,I did put it on a set of scales and it weights around 262lbs can`t make out any weight numbers on it..I have done rebound test hammer only seems ok about the same as my cast steel anvil. Plate seem to be secure and has a nice ring(never owned a forged anvil with a top plate) but edges are badly rounded. Anyway will give it a go when I get it on a stand.
