Glenn
What is the suggested bottom pressure for safe operation of the oxygen and acetylene tanks pressure wise? Is it foolish to try to get the last drop of gas? What might the results be if you tried?
HWooldridge
With oxygen, you can run until there is no pressure in the regulator. I have been told not to do the same with acetylene but I know I've had it down to 4-5 lbs and no acetone got into the lines. At that point, you're wasting time trying to extract that last little bit. I usually change tanks when I have a project coming up and will refill even if there is something left so I don't run out in the middle.
