arftist Posted January 11, 2014 Share Posted January 11, 2014 This rail warped when I did some welding after I unclamped it from the bench. I have used this method to straighten many things. I usually use a bottle jack, but at this shop they had a porta-power. I had to make a small adapter to keep the chain on top of the piston. Frosty Posted January 11, 2014 Share Posted January 11, 2014 I used the same technique to straighten one of the posts on my shop. It was damaged by a fork when loading or unloading and I didn't notice it till I laid it on the shop slab before putting the frame together. A little chain and a hydraulic jack straightened ad took the twist out of it. It took more time to set it up than true it up. Frosty The Lucky.
