Glenn
January 12 2nd Sunday - 9am til noon followed by lunch (you gotta buy your own) at Big Earl's Greasy Eats. Have fun with propane or coal forge, flypress, powerhammer, widgets and gadgets. January 18 Desert Rat Forge Demo Todd Howes Todd will demo punching and drifting long with some joinery. If you were at the recent annual auction his table had some awesome joinery! Paul Dief Dief will demo a pot rack (assembled with rivets of course) along with a jig to make hooks for the rack. Location: Desert Rat Forge Gates open 8am. Demo starts at 9am Registration: $10 for members, $15 for non-members After the demos there will be a forging contest: Everyone will start with 5ft of 5/16 sq stock (this will be supplied). You can use all or part of it. You will then have 66 minutes to make a botanical form - use your imagination.. Everyone who enters will be given a raffle ticket to win a $50 gift certificate to Pieh Tool. This contest is for everyone regardless of skill level. Even if your piece looks like a javelina ate it and pooped it out you have a chance to win the gift certificate. Bring your anvil, forge & tools if you got em. • Lunch is on your own - Cave Creek has many great cool funky eateries • Tailgaters welcome • Bring Iron-In-the-Hat and Show and Tell items Remember Iron In the Hat Thanks to all of you who have participated in Iron In The Hat. By purchasing tickets and donating items, you help support AABA events and projects. Items for donation can be a tool, piece of art, something you don’t utilize in your shop, a great book, t-shirt, hat… something an AABA member would enjoy. Thanks for your continued support.
