Material stand for Induction forge?

Featured Replies

I have been making some coin Mokume.

I bought two different Graphite crucibles and they work, but they crack and fall apart after just a few uses.

Has anyone any ideas for a more robust material stand?

Thanks,

Dave

Good Morning,

I was making some coin today as well :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Soapstone works well to prop things up off the coils and is hardy. I use the pencil inserts sold at welding suppliers.

Soft fire brick can be carved to match the inside diameter of your coils giving you insulation as well as protection but you lose some efficiency due to the necessary thickness of the material.

Good luck have fun.
