SteveGallo Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Hi guys, long time lurker, I've been intent on building a forge for the past few years, but could never justify the cost. My wife, being the amazing woman that she is, bought me more or less all of the supplies I need to get this project off the ground for Christmas. She based everything off of this video, so those are the materials I have: Quote
Steve Sells Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 It is not too large for a small furnace, but I think it is over kill for a normal size forge. Read up and you will notice 3/4" is a common size. Welcome to the forum Quote

Read up and you will notice 3/4" is a common size. Welcome to the forum I've seen pretty much everywhere that one or two 3/4" is standard for that size forge (which I figure is about 550 cubic inches), but as long as a burner double that diameter will work then I'll be happy. Would I be ripping through the fuel or have a hard time controlling temps with one that size? Quote
Steve Sells Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 1.5 diameter is NOT double the size of .75, one inch is closer to double the 3/4, your math is incorrect Quote

Steve Sells Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 over kill, and yes, it will eat fuel very fast. Quote
