78sharpshooter
I searched for info on anyone putting a DC motor on the little giant and found nothing. Has anyone done this? I was thinking about this because it might offer better control of the hammer by simply using a PWM speed control and foot pedal and there is the added benefit of not having to worry about the clutch pads either. ThomasPowers
As you use the clutch to change the speed and force of the top die in use how do you plan to do this for the DC motor? Foot control?

mbettis
I have a mechanical speed control on mine. I use it all the time. When hammering cymbals, consistency is key. I get much more consistent strikes by always running my hammer at full speed with the clutch, and using the speed controller to vary the force. Works great. Not sure how much help that would be with black smithing, but it's awesome for cymbalsmithing. Later, Matt
