August 22, 200718 yr I am still serching for some sort of open black smith shop around new hampshire, or an event. I missed one in vermont a month ago and I'm still upset about that! I havent seen an event around here or an open shop. So it occured to me, ask the forum of blacksmiths if they know! Does anyone know of an blacksmith's event around NH? Thanks.

August 22, 200718 yr In addition to what Glenn posted, the New England Blacksmiths have a teaching shop in Brentwood, NH: Brentwood Teaching Facility A couple workshops are coming up and we're doing open shops monthly, which may happen more often if the interest is there. August 22, 200718 yr The NEB is a great bunch of folks, and their shop in Brentwood is great. Their spring meet in Lincoln RI this year was the first NEB meet that I had made it to, and I learned more in a few days there than I had ever thought possible. The fall meet is going to be in CT this year, but I would greatly recommend driving down from NH to attend if your'e able to. In addition if you're ever down by Rhode Island, my shop is small (and all propane fired), and Im still a beginner myself, but I'd be happy to have someone pounding metal in my shop with me some weekend. (I'm what I'd term experienced beginner, but a beginner none the less, since i'm for the most part self taught in my free time, and dont really know how to do a lot of stuff =P)
