dperk
Hello, I'm looking for any information I can find about this forge and blower. The forge is a deep stamped steel pan. I assume it's to be clayed? The blower hangs off it. I'm familiar with a Champion 400, but not this buffalo 300? Are these any good? The whole setup looks like it would be good for portable use. If anyone has any information they could send my way, I'd appreciate it!
HWooldridge
It is a style commonly employed to heat rivets when those were still being used to fasten structural steel - it's a good setup for other forging so I'd say put it to use. I've never been a fan of claying forges because it can hold moisture and cause excessive rusting but cast iron pans will occasionally break if they are not lined. matto
It would look better turned over with a good coal fire and some hot steel in it.
