Hello. My bride picked me up another anvil while I was out of town. I would appreciate your help identifying it. It is a 200# and has a W cast into an inverted triangle.

Thank you for the quick response. This thing dose not look like it has been hit at all. Having second thoughts about my Hay Budden now.

West anvils are top quality and comparable to any other really excellent anvils. They also draw big prices when they are on the market. Matchless antiques has had a few on Ebay in the past.

Wow. Good to know. I got it for about half of what I gave for the Hay Budden, and it's 45 pounds heavier.
Thanks.

Do you know if the anvils were painted from the factory? I ask because this anvil looks like it would have a factory coating on it. It looks like it was bought and "never" used. Thanks again.

AIA makes no reference to any coating, but who knows...

It's more than likely lead paint, so take necessary precautions if you decide to remove it...

I have a West, but my logo is different. Light blue paint (really faded) on mine, not sure if its factory paint or not.

I've attached some pics of my 200lbs west, does yours look similar?
