mountainforge
Hi, I have a Champ 400 that I'm restoring, and was wondering what the original color scheme was or might have been. Thanks in advance for any thoughts!!
Timothy Miller
The pink shirt is mandatory otherwise whats the point of having the correct color blower to coordinate with it.
mountainforge
Lol @ Tim! I'll work in the pink shirt if I can get one tailored like that @ stuart: thanks for the pic!! I've seen other members' pics on here that resemble the one on the cover more or less. How did you come by that book?
SReynolds
Many different models were a medium red. Sorta like the Columbian vises. I would gues they were satin in color, but that is only my opinion, but the red is a fact. I was informed by a member that they were painted in the color which the supplier ordered them...... I don't know who the supplier would be other than a hardware store. Not sure whey any one hardware store would offer a custom color. The more I think about that the more I disagree. Anyhow..........if you have taken apart a nice forge/blower, the parts still exhibit a medium red. One that is rusted to the point of pitting the metal, no..........you **probably** will NOT see any red paint. A nice mediun gloss (satin?) black works really well. I use the John Deere Blitz Black and/or the Krylon BBQ & Stove
