I have decided that i want to learn some blacksmithing and bladesmithing techniques and backgrounds. Have been doing a lot of reading and joining forums. Does anyone here know of anyone in the sarasota, bradenton, tampa, st pete, cleawater fl areas? Id love to be able to hook up with someone and get to learn first hand. thanks! Chuck in Ms
Hey Jordan, Look up the Florida Artist Blacksmith association, and go visit at their next meeting near you. I don't know any of them personally but you can be sure there will be people there that will be glad to help you as long as you are willing to work and learn. GRiley904
Hi Jordan I'm a learning smith myself and I live in jacksonville. Faba is a great group and their ne florida meetings are held in Barberville. there is a 25 dollar annual membership fee. I made the conference last year and I would say it was well worth it. Shoot me a pm and I'll give you my e mail our phone # .I'd be glad to talk with you about getting started and see what w can learn together. And with the help of the wonderful people in faba we can achieve or goal in smithing and then some.
