Setting up a belt line

Featured Replies

So to set up a belt line I want to use a little 4 banger motor to drive the belt. I was wondering if this one would be best suited to my shop.

I would only be running a drill, grinder, possibly blower, and maybe a home made power hammer.

Have a good sunday

That is pretty cool, I wonder what the horse power is. I know I have seen huge motors that weigh a couple of tons and are like 5 horse power, lots of torque but low on the hp

I think that should do what you need. The fuel cost might be a bit high... Each puff of smoke is probubly about $.50 worth of diesel....

is there such a thing as too much power?

Only under specific circumstances, so generally speaking, NO!

here's my line shaft. I plan to expand it to run my drill press and lathe. One step at a time I reckon.

LOL

OK, the post was a joke based around that monster engine I found a vid of. It is actually the engine from a locomotive. Just imagine what your neighbors would say when it was delivered, and then started.
