Frostfly
I'm building a propane forge. I have the burner built I'm just short a blower. after two weeks of my head hurting I figured I'd ask I found this on the net and the CFM is what I'm looking for..but the shape is a touch baffeling. Would this work as a blower for a gas burner?Fasco Blower also what is a draft inducer? it looks like a blower, but the descriptions don't match. Are they designed for intermitant use? HWooldridge
Draft inducers are put into chimneys to induce draft - not designed for a forge blower. The Fasco will work but a cheap 50-80 cfm squirrel cage blower will work fine for a gas forge. You can also go to WW Grainger and get a bigger one if you want more air. Frostfly
I'm trying to get one with a bit more CFM I'm planning an air curtain design to keep the dragon breath safely away from my face I didn't think the draft inducers would work. thanks for the confirmation. Glenn
Look in the dumpsters at a heating and cooling dealer for a whole house fan from a house furnace. Or I guess you could buy a new one. Just remember that your redirecting the dragon's breath so don't set the ceiling on fire. Your air curtain will also quick cool any metal that passes through it on the way out of the gasser.
