blafen Posted March 1, 2007 Share Posted March 1, 2007 the other day my dad was terlling me about this beach on a different island than we is on where the military dumped a bunch of ships supposedly starting in WWII and i was wondering if their might be any particularly unique steels in ships of that era that would warrent a flight over to that beach Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ThomasPowers Posted March 2, 2007 Share Posted March 2, 2007 WW11 ships will generally be mild steel. Armour/gun barrels may have a nickel content. I do not know of anything special to look for that would not be easier had at a local scrapyard. Some parts of WWI ships might be wrought iron.
