October 14, 201114 yr Hello Everybody,I've been interested in blacksmithing for several years now, even before I found out that my Grandfather (Buddy D. Cook)had a small shop on his farm and dabbled some making and repairing farm implements and other tools. I kind of inheritedhis anvil and some of his tools, but the forge was deteriorated and his blower (I think it was a Champion) got sold by arelative. I'm thinking of setting up my own little shop to play in.A few years ago I read "The Art of Blacksmithing" by Bealer and recently started rereading it. So glad I found thiscommunity today.
October 14, 201114 yr Welcome and glad to have another person trying to keep the craft in their family on another generation!
October 14, 201114 yr Timothy. Welcome to IFI> How about being a bit more specific as to your location. There is a good probability that there is a smith or forge group neaby that can help you get started. Jerry

October 15, 201114 yr Author Thanks for the welcome! I will probably become somewhat of a nuisance and have a ton of questions when I start setting up my shop, I've done chosen a spot under the shed on the side of my woodshop. I just got a lot of clearing out to do. LOL I want to make a bellows and maybe a brick forge. Oh, and I live in Haralson County out in the boondocks near Bremen.
