Ben van Leeuwen Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 So I've been lurking about this site a while now, and decided it was time to join up so I can ask some questions. I've got an interest in setting up a forge in my garage and seeing what I can do to with some heat and a hammer. I know smithing can be fairly tool heavy, so I am just taking my time looking for the odd deal on some decent hammers and a pair of tongs. I have my mind set on trying to make a wash bucket charcoal forge, and I have a small chunk of railway track that the previous owners of the house left me. Looking forward to absorbing as much information as I can here, just as much as I am looking forward to getting a hammer in my hand and giving it a go. Quote
ThomasPowers Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Will you be going to Quad-State? I'm selling off a bucket of ballpeens at US$2 a piece there. I know several folks from Canada who attend especially to "tool up". Quote
Ben van Leeuwen Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 Unfortunately I will not be going. It certainly looks like an event that I should be planning on attending next year though. Quote
