Timothy Miller Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I picked this anvil up this weekend on a trip up to liberty tool In Maine. I was on my way home from the New England school of metal work. This appears to be a Fisher anvil. It is marked 00 and weighs just over 5 lbs on my kitchen scale. It clearly has a steel face plate. The hardie hole is 1/2" and the prichel is 1/4". It appears to be unused. Quote
Sask Mark Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Nice! If I remember correctly, one of those sold for almost $1000 on ebay last year. Quote
Timothy Miller Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 Perhaps I should take it back to my apartment and stroke it wile I mutter "my precious" to my self in the dark. Quote
Mainely,Bob Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Next time you make it up this way let me know. I would like to meet you and maybe sit down to a meal together(We haz much fresh caught lob-stah!). Liberty Tool is a semi-annual trip for me and my brothers and about 90 minutes drive from the coast. I`ll take you around to some of the more friendly blacksmiths in the area. Doug Harley and Pete Brown are just two who live out on our end of the peninsula. Quote
Fosterob Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Perhaps I should take it back to my apartment and stroke it wile I mutter "my precious" to my self in the dark. I always wondered how people come up with names for their tools. Sounds like you have chosen one that fits. Rob Quote
