I Forge Iron

Intro

Hello everyone. My name is Joe. I have a interest in Blacksmithing but am by no stretch of the imagination a Blacksmith. I've been checking around the internet and came across this site which is a great source of information.
I've done some Farrier work in the past but that was about 25 years ago. Having recently retired I was going through my old tools and and found a rekindled interest in banging on some metal. I've got my old 70lb farriers anvil and a couple of rounding hammers so i'll probably be in the market for a larger anvil and a forge. I've been checking the net for anvils and didn't realize how many styles and mfgs there were. Kinda info overload. But i've always found that getting the "stuff" is half the fun.
I guess for awhile I'll be asking more questions than contributing any answers on this forum.

Dave Wilson put together a list of anvil names. This may be a good place to use the information as Joe is "in the marker" for another anvil
