I took a class in Ohio and learned the basics and want to keep going with a evening or weekend type of class or group. DocJohnson Posted June 19, 2011 Share Posted June 19, 2011 Daniel, Check the Guild of Metalsmith's website at <metalsmith.org> Classes are held mostly during the school year, but there are threshing shows during the summer, and a corn feed in August. The group is quite active and people are welcoming and helpful. I'd say welcome to Minneapolis, but being from St. Paul, I don't go there, so, welcome to Minnesota! There are not only a number of classes, events and such every year but there are a bunch of great guys, some who'd probably just invite you over. I have one very good friend in Elk River but he's not so much into smithing though he CAN beat iron and steel to his will. Frosty the Lucky.
