LLoegrfach
Hi all, This is my first post! I'm just starting out blacksmithing and I would like to mark everything I make with a stamp and a date symbol - mainly so I can (hopefully) see some improvement over the years! I can obtain number and letter stamps easily enough but I wondered if anybody knows if there is a supplier of symbols (hearts, animals...)? I'm based in Wales, UK but would be willing to buy overseas if necessary. Thanks all, Richard

LLoegrfach
Thanks for the reply. I've already had a quote for a custom made stamp but they are expensive (
bruce wilcock
what sort of symbol are you thinking of i have boxes of punches and one might alter to get you started,
Ed Thomas
Richard: Making small punches is not so much difficult as it is a bit tedious. Consider making your own. I don't endorse anvilfire, but here is a link to how to make a touchmark or punch: link removed at the request of anvilfire
lazyassforge
LLoegrfach, look at this page. It shows a simple way to make a touchmark. It may not be exactly what you are looking for but making your own touchmark is not hard.http://www.saltforkcraftsmen.org/Do-it-yourself%20Projects.htm#touchmark Bill D. LLoegrfach
Thanks very much for all the information! I think I'll have a go at making my own stamp after reading the guides - a full moon perhaps! Richard
