mitch4570
I was just looking at written directions for forging a cross and they seemed confusing. Does any one know of a site that gives a video of the process? Thanks Mitch
CurlyGeorge
Don't know of a site. But if you mean the split cross, just cut down the middle of the stock from one end, roll the stock 90 degrees and cut back from the other end until the two cuts overlap inside. For example, I use 6" of 1/2" sq stock. I cut down 2 1/4" from one end then roll the stock 90 degrees and switch ends and cut back 4". This allows a 1/4"overlap in the center. Does that make any sense? Hope so. :D
mitch4570
Thanks CurlyGeorge it does make sense to me now. In the directions I was looking at it was unclear to me that you made the separate splits from opposite ends. Thanks for the speedy reply Mitch
