Chris X
Hello all! I am building a propane forge out of a 5 gallon craftsman air tank. I calculated roughly 550-600 cubic inches of space with all the refractories in place. However, Im still undecided as to which burner configuration to do. Will two 3/4 burners be sufficient? Will one, 1" burner be ok? I had my heart set on using t-rex burners. This forge will mainly be for knife making. thanks all in advance
ThomasPowers
Do you want to weld or not? Knifemaking can include no welding or tons of welding... What kind of refractory? A rammable will have quite different heat properties than a fiber one.
Chris X
hi thomas thank you for the reply. im unsure as to how much welding i will be doing but i know for sure I'll be using coated wool with a coated firebrick as the floor.
