January 24, 201115 yr I think if my wife sees this, I'll get locked in the smithy until she has some! Nice idea. Did you split the decorated end prior to scrolling?
January 24, 201115 yr When my sister was in the Peace Corps in Cameroon, she reported that the village smith did a brisk trade in hair sticks. I am sure he made other stuff, but she hadn't heard about it. Looks nice.
January 25, 201115 yr David Excellent idea. Unfortunately that third photo of the sticks in the hair is so small, its hard to make out. Any chance of a few close ups of it in use? Also what kind of finish will/have you put on it? e.g. paint them a colour or clear finish like bees wax, or something else? Thanks for sharing Adam
January 25, 201115 yr Author Thanks to all of you the hair stick is made of raund bar 14mm thick 10cm long when 4cm of the top are flatened abit and splited in to a "fork" and shaped into what ever you want the rest is streched into pencil long and spind into a spiral .
January 25, 201115 yr David My thanks to you and the model for posting the pics of the stick in use. Looks great! I will have to have a crack at making one next time at the forge. Adam
