noobsmith
Well hey guys I'm new to this we site first of all but I signed up since it seemed like a solid place to ask for help. I live in manhattan NYC and if anybody could help me find a forge/workshop or even just a Place to forge (shady locations welcome). I would be extremely grateful. Thanks
ciladog
Try hooking up with Simthy1 on this site. He is a blacksmith for NYC. Or be willing to travel to the burbs.

Glenn
I think Chester NY is only about 70 miles to the west of NYC. Look up Iceforge.com and make it a point to visit with Ed and Rhoda Mack. You will come away with more information that you can imagine. They have classes in June (I think). If you take the class it will jump start your blacksmithing into warp drive. Be sure to ask to see the upstairs display room, and take a camera (and extra batteries). Also look up Peters Valley Craft Center in NJ. Dick Sargent run the blacksmithing shop and teaches classes there. Dick was a working blacksmith on the island before he moved to NJ to teach. A day trip to either place is worth the time, so jump if you get the chance.

backyard smith
I have a artist friend in the Village and she forges on the roof of her building. Maybe that would work for you to. Just a idea. TC
