Thomas Dean
It's that time again. Oct 15&16 Perry, OK is the place to be. Tailgating, open forge, IITH, raffle for a Tool Box loaded with fantastic hand made tools, a Gallery, good food!, auction on Sat. nite, and 2 of the countries best demonstrators. Darryl Nelson, considered the best in "hot carving" animal heads in the country. Just think, 2 days of Darryl showing the ins and outs of how to forge a beautiful animal head. You will be amazed at how he can transform a hunk of steel into a beautiful life-like bear or wolf or bobcat or...well, you get the idea. Then there is Gordon Williams. Gordon will keep you entertained as he demonstrates his talent of working iron. He is noted for having several different projects going at the same time and is a flurry of motion as he works each item. Never a dull moment with this guy! Registration is a meer $55.00 for the entire weekend. Now where are you going to get a better deal than that? Hope to see you there! Post here if you are going and I'll keep an eye open for you at the conference. Would enjoy meeting all of you
Tommy Traylor
There is another interesting event coming up on Oct. 21-22 in Branson, MO. It is a swap meet for antique machinery and this year is adding blacksmiths combining with the Blacksmiths Assoc of MO. I went last year and it was a good event. See details at owammos.com.
