Francis Trez Cole
don't waste your time you do not want paint on your anvil you will use the face and the sides as well paint and hot metal font work well. as for your forge that is up to you but use high heat paint
pkrankow
I'm not against painting the sides of the anvil, but you may eventually run hot metal in the arches and other shapes. I used a wax paste on my anvil, sides top and all, it burns off with almost no odor, and takes seconds to reapply. Slows the brown (surface rust), but doesn't stop it. It will prevent the brown from transferring onto your clothing at least. Phil
dagr8tim
I'm considering this on the stand for the brake drum forge I'm building. It's supposed to be good up to 2000 degrees. It also come in several other colors. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_FlameProof&153;-VHT-Paint_7141563-P_N3587_T%7CGRP2050____
