andreas
Found this a couple of weeks ago at a local farrier supply. Used but in really good condition. Picture is from the internet, but it is the exact same anvil. Fella wants $350 CDN, I think that's a bit high. Anyone have one of these? It was apparently made in Sweden for Centaur by Kohlswa.centaur anvil.bmp
Sask Mark
Apparently some of the Kohlswa anvils imported by Centaur Forge were not heat treated properly and had quite soft faces. You might want to check the face of it (ball bearing bounce test) before you commit to anything.
Thomas Dean
Nice "LOOKING" anvil, but as SM says they are not always heat treated. I would keep looking if it didn't test out and would for sure offer less$$.
eric sprado
I've been around quite a few of those Centaurs. I sold one at the last NWBA conference for about that price. I've not seen any of the "bad" ones.Maybe just luck or maybe I try to hit what is on the anvil and not the anvil itself... Not that I haven't done that, but it wasn't my intent. Sask Mark
Try this link to anvilfire. It should give you some idea of what to expect. http://www.anvilfire.com/article.php?bodyName=/FAQs/anvil-5.htm&titleName=anvilfire.com%20Blacksmithing%20FAQs%20Anvils%20Hardness
