Odd looking bump in the plate on the horn end. What do you suppose that is about.

I was thinking that there may have been another plate that was attached or sat on top behind the hump. This must be the rare dromedary anvil from the Arabian Peninsula. :huh:

I don't know much of about anvils. I have seen these before about 10 years ago. the hump on the anvil is used like the step between the face and the horn on most other anvils. It is also useful for drawing down. I figure this type of anvil might make it harder to work on larger projects since the humo prevents you from having the work run in parrallel to the face of the anvil
