nonjic
I recently attended a course in London UK taught by Howard Clark, We were making Japanese 'style' swords. Unfortunatly my water quench wasnt 100% succesfull! I managed to salvage this tanto from the blade though. Learnt more in 5 days than I could have taught myself in a year! The steel is 1086 V. I can see hamon hunting might be addictive, might have to have a break from patterwelding for a bit! The blade is pretty well mirror sanded, The finish looks much rougher in the photos than it actually is! - Lots of what look like scratchs are infact dust and smudges. It will need another going over to get it 100% before it gets mounted though. This type of blade requires some serious patience finishing. All comments appreciated!
