grendel Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 I was wondering if anybody could tell me anything about the markings on this goose-wing I just got. The fellow I got it off of said he thought it was 17th century german? Quote
Don A Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 We were looking at one at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris, TN that is said to have been found near Fort Loudoun (a British fort). I took a picture of it. If I remember correctly, there are a lot of similarities. I'm not sure that it had any markings. I'll get that picture off my camera and post it. Don Quote
pkrankow Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 It looks like decorations for the sake of embellishment to me. It may have had significance when it was made, or may have been just to show off a little. Phil Quote
