Svarttrost
Last weekend I drove across the country to partake in few blacksmithing classes, from there I also got this beauty. It's about 100kg or 220lbs. The edges were all cracked so I grinded 'em clean and welded them good, there's still some serious grindin to do but it starts to look like an anvil. pkrankow
Nice looking. To keep the edges from chipping after all that hard work you may want to dress them. http://www.anvilfire.com/index.php?bodyName=/FAQs/anvil_radius.htm&titleName=anvilfire.com%20Blacksmithing%20FAQs%20Anvils%20Radius Phil
jmeineke
What type of welder did you use to weld up the edges and with what kind of rod / wire?
Svarttrost
After I had ground the edges clean, I first welded the foundation with MAG with basic wire. Then on top of that I used carbide rod (I dunno if that's the right word in english but you get the idea) so the edges are really tough stuff.
