Sam Salvati
Was home for a hammer in to my own shop, and had a burning urge to use my own powerhammer, so while I was there I forged this little knife. Forged from O1, DOM tubing bolster with maple handle. Still need to HT the blade and then glue it all up. The unhandled one is a very special personal knife, forged from leaf spring from the resource pile in the very first real shop I ever saw, on the very first anvil and powerhammer I ever saw, using the first coal forge I ever saw, using the very first's blacksmith's own personal handmade hammer. Hallowed steel forged with hallowed tools on hallowed ground:cool:
BIGGUNDOCTOR
I like the piercing. How was it done? My only criticism may be the surface roughness may make them difficult to keep sanitized in the kitchen. Thanks for the material link earlier. I apologize for not replying earlier. Sam Salvati
Thanks BGD. The peircing is stamped in, it is my maker's mark I made the punch. I wash my knives after every use(no stainless in MY kitchen), they are not used for commercial cooking so there is no need for nazidisinfecting :)
