triangle maker's mark?

yep, i have an anvil of about 125-ish lbs, and on the foot, under the horn, there is a triangle mark, definately put there on purpose. The anvil is wrought with a steel face, and i think there is some writing on the side, but even with a stiff brushing and sanding, Ican't see it.
