Champion 400 fan shaft ball beaarings

Hello all! Bought a Champion 400 blower ($60- Score!) and am trying to remove the fan shaft/worm gear to replace the ball bearings. They are mostly frozen in place. 1)Have the fan and fan shroud removed but cannot get the rear nut (at the crank end) off to access the bearings. Is it reverse thread? 2) There is a seal/cap of some sort at the fan end of the shaft as well. Does this tap out or is it threaded? Everything has been soaked daily with "liquid wrench". Everything turns and works ok I just know it could be better and want to make it last another 100 years.

Got it, thank you. The teeth on my channel locks were just eating the metal but it finally broke free. No cotter key seen. Bearings at fan end look good. I'll replace ones at back end soon. My wife and I are starting a day camp for foster children. We will be doing some blacksmithing with the kids. This will be our second hand crank blower. Again thanks---
