Loki Steelheart
Hello everyone!I just finished making a knife out of a railroad spike it took a week to make....rough shaping was done by hammering more refined shaping was done with an angle grinder and a bench sander.Edge was made with an angle grinder, filing ,more bench sanding, sharpening on various Arkansas stones... THIS IS MY FIRST KNIFE I FORGED! I was inspired by the Nepalese kukri.I love the whole shape of this very famous cutting instrument and find it appealing to look at as well.another on is in the works only im making it out of a rather large file.I know this is nothing compared to what some of the other people can do on this forum but this my humble(and very sharp) creation. CBrann
Looks good! From a RR spike it may not hold an edge well, not enough carbon, but it looks great! I work with rr spikes a lot, I enjoy taking them into a different and hopefully more useful forms. Cliff
