OK, I am not really that new to this, just getting back to it after a long break. I know I probably already know the answer, but I have never heard the term Normalizing used before. I know it is to de-stress the steel while forging, but what is the normal proceedure?

There is plenty of detail in the stickys, as well as advanced things in the knife sticky's. Basically one heats the steel then allows to cool in still air.
