I am having trouble locating 3" square 4140 stock. I use it for dies on my powerhammer. The local dealer that handles tool steels has changed his inventory. He now saw cuts 3" plate into 3" width. I works but make it much more expensive. I live near Portland, Oregon. Any ideas? Thanks

You can also try Burgon tool steel. The link is on the ABANA website. Good service, and they do small quantities without a big deal.

Try http://ww.speedymetals.com. It's there, and it's readily available. Just go to alloy and then square.

Why not buy round its cheaper and readily available. You have a power hammer. Forge it to square any size you require, within reason of course.
