A good place to start is on the home page, reading the "Lessons in Metalsmithing and Blue prints" will get you going in the right direction. Take a lunch and something to drink though, it's easy to lose yourself. Take notes too, of things you have questions about so you can search the site for answers once you find your way back, or so you can ask the forum. If you click "User CP" at the top of the page and edit your profile to show your location it can make a big difference. IFI is represented by members from more than 50 countries and a lot of info is location specific. Also, if local folk know you're there they can invite you to get togethers, tip you to tool deals and offer hands on help. It really is helpful.
