April 11, 200917 yr Here is some stuff I just finished. A couple of paper towel holders I made as a thank you gift to some good friends, and some handles. Some of it was heated in the Michael Porter forge I just finished in the near past.
April 11, 200917 yr Those are all really nice! I'm going to have to save those pics for future reference. Thanks for posting.
April 11, 200917 yr Nicely done! the finial scrolls uniform. I like twisting rectangular bar for the strong texture but it can be tricky to get even. You're came out very nicely as did the scrolls, uniformity scrolling is another tricky skill to master. Rather than welding the handles rivets look good. Collars would secure the scrolled ends to the horizontal rack and will hide welds nicely. Well done, you obviously bring a serious kit of skills to the craft, even without having seen pics of your models. Frosty
April 11, 200917 yr Author Thanks. I agree about the rivets. Next time. I have some copper rivets that would contrast with the steel. Also the collars. Good points.
April 11, 200917 yr Craftbender hi I want to reffer to the handles from one point of view ,the design is very nice but the welding disturbs me . I think that if you make a ''hidden welding '' drill a 7/16'' hole in the back plate and weld in that hole to the handle ,it will hold very good and no one will see the weld. just my humble advice Hofi
April 11, 200917 yr Author Yes, I believe you are right. The welds don't quite do the trick. Next time I'll either do the rivets or the plug weld from the back side. Thank you for your input.
