I forged the blade out of coil spring and did an edge quanch . While i was cleaning it up in some vinger i saw a temper line. So i polished and i tried to get to show better but no luck. The brass is held on by peening the tang over. A paste wax finish in the handle.

  4. I use charcoal and wood chucks, I take three pieces of full sheets of news papers and roll the edges into a circle. Then light the bottom then place it the forge. Add charcoal and wood. Then some air until it going good then i pile the wood and charcoal on. ,If the charcaol damp I drizzle a little used vegtable oil on the paper for a little extra help.

  5. I made a billet out of 5 chainsaw blades then I folded them three times. Then i took a little piece and drilled some holes in it to give the pool and eye patter, the blade a clip point bowie shape. The finish is 400 wet and dry vinger acid etch. The hand guard is bronze with ball pean hammer . the handle is leather with blackspacer then an antler crown. The finish on the handle is paste wax.

  7. Couple knives for a cowboy friend , He told me what he wanted and i tried to get them as close to what he asked for. The bottom is stick with end peened over on a mild steel butt cap. The handle was a bleached elk tin, I dyed it in some home made walnut dye and some other thing to get the color.
The top blase is W1 tool steel, edge quanched. and the bottom is 1080 edge quanched both in oil.
