  1. Anyone have any insight on this possibly being a Wilkinson anvil? Does anyone have info on date or serial number stamps for them?
  2. Yes the pritchel hole looks drifted, not drilled. Rebound is good bounces back about 7 1/2 inches from a 10in drop with a 1” ball bearing. Ring is great all over, horn, sweet spot, and heel. Paid $225. It’ll be my backup anvil, I have a nice hay budden I use primarily.
  3. Just purchased this anvil, just wondering if anyone had any insight on who the maker is and around what year it was made. I know the English hundred weights markings on the side equals 91lbs(on my bathroom scale it weighed 90.7lbs, so spot on). Only thing I can make out on the other side is an “N” torwards the upper right. There is a 66 stamped on the front foot. Thanks in advance. I’ve searched for hours with every method known, flour on anvil, all different lights, crayons and pencils on paper..... nothing. I know it’s english pattern but that’s all I got. Thanks
  4. Forgot the photo of the little 4” Iron City.
  5. Good morning all, I am new to this forum and am really excited to get going on here. Seems to be a wealth of knowledge on this forum. I have done some searching by reading through quite a few pages of posts and can’t quite to seem to find an answer. I read another post where someone has a similar one to mine but seems to be a generic vise and another post where a gentleman has one exactly like mine but he does not know the maker either, so this may be a lost cause but figured I would try anyways. Yesterday I bought two vises from an estate sale outside of the Atlanta GA area, one is marked(Iron City) the other is not. Was wondering if anyone had any insight as to who the maker is. It weighs 68lbs, the jaws are 5 1/4” wide. The only marks seem to be 4 little divots on the mounting plate body under the screw box.
