  1. Thanks for the quick responses. I'll have to try them and see how they work. I remember reading about the chisel trick a while ago now that I'm reminded about it. It isn't a big bulge and doesn't look bad. I'm probably the only one that notices it, but if you're going to do something, try and do it better the next time. I figured that this would speed up the trial-and-error learning. And yes I have won without training. I made it to provincials in track without having any training other than the occasional footrace against a cow heading for a gate:) Thanks, Ryan
  2. I've been having some problems with my fishtail scrolls. I don't have any pics of the problems and don't have time for trial-and-error learning while I'm at universtity so I figured I'd get some ideas for the next time I'm home. Anyways, I've been consistently getting a bulge in the middle of th curl so that the ends pinch in and the middle bulges out. Any suggestions on how to reduce this other than better hammering?
  3. Never really looked at these bad-boys but when I look at that pic of the one with the air holes, I see the possibility of a chisle/punch holder when cut in half. Depends on the size of the holes though and I've never tried it. Just me thinking between classes and sleep-deprived.
  4. Have you had any problems with it seeming to rust under the laquer? I have had a couple of times that I've sprayed something down only to have rust spots show up the next couple of days.
  5. Hey all, this is my first post. I've been lurking here for a while and finally got some time to upload pics of a project for a friend. It started as a candleholder but it's now become a stand-alone art piece. The flower was made from a chunk of an old 55 gallon drum. The base was originally started as a dish but found it's way into this project. The leaf was a chunk of old angle iron. Whole flower Flower close-up Base close-up Leaf-underside Ryan
