  1. MIG welding.. causes spatter. Any weld with stick or MIG cause some amount of spatter. Excessive spatter can be cause but improper angle of the electrode. But most spatter can be knocked off with a good chipping hammer. Some electrode also cause more spatter then others or it could be incorrect polarity.
  2. Hi everyone mi name is Nick. I am a US Navy seabee. We are responsible for provide construction support for navy and usmc. My job or rate is steelworker. My father was a machinist and I've been around metal work most my life. I just recently started screwing around with heating and beating. I'm nowhere near calling my self a blacksmith. I am eager to learn more. I'm from and live in the Orlando area.
  3. These are pictures of the 3rd forge I have built. The fire pot is made out of a RR tie plate and 1/8 flat bar. I need to make an ash flap that is the last thing need to do. I fired it up last night works pretty well.
