I thought if was the only one who picks up random bits of metal that nobody can see why I want it. What are you thinkin about doin with that? I'm lookin at the picture and I just can't see anythin unless the metal is thick enough then I might cut it up for candle cups.

    Welcome to the club.:D

  2. If I were carry heavy loads again, I would go to a large truck stop and purchase a set of AeroQuip straps. They are about 4 inches wide and about a quarter inch thick. The ratchet mechinism is also heavy duty. These are what we used to hold down loads, they were about as strong as chains.

  3. Back in ancient history I worked for a Sears repair center. Every Sears store had a sign over the entrance that said " your satisfaction guaranteed or your money back" . I'll bet that if they still carry that sander they will exchange it for a new one. I've seen people buy a new lawn mower in the spring and return it in the fall, and get their money back. It takes all kinds I guess.

  4. I am old enough to remember playing anything we wanted to. Cowboys and Indians, Three Musketeers, Soldiers, etc. . We were blessed with imaginations, unlike today. We were not tied down with the need for batteries, if we had something that moved in some way it was wind up.  I feel sorry for the younger generations of today. If you have no imagination you have no future. I have never worried about tomorrow, as I know that some way I will handle it, sometimes better than others, but it will be handled. I have no fears, as I have done this for 72 years. God help some of the younger generation,  I say some because there are still some youngsters out there like us old farts.

  5. Growing up in north eastern NJ, right across the river from NYC, you could get just about any type of food from anywhere in the world. I always loved to try different types of food. My mom was born in Italy, and we always made everything from scratch. As a kid my grandfather raised  chickens, and rabbits, which were used for Sunday dinner. We used to slaughter a pig every once in a while. I have found very little food that I don't like, and my stomach shows it. If anyone has what they consider a strange dish please PM me with the recipe,as I am always looking for new types of food. Just don't tell my doctors.:D

  6. Steve you are a kind gentleman. I grew up back in the 50's and 60's in northeaster NJ, long before Tony Soprano made it famous.  To deal with a PITA we would have handed him a quarter and told him to call someone who gives a #@%& about what you have to say about anything in this world. I'm glad that I mellowed in my old age. Although my wife would argue that point.:D

They pretty much had and have started laying more again in the past week or so. out of 17 hens i was getting 2 to 3 eggs a day. it's been increasing back to more normal now.

My neighbors chickens stopped laying. Maybe I'll try to weld up something scary, to scare the eggs out of them.
