I have a idea in my mind that I want to switch to gas. I am looking for a gas forge that has a door on each end and a door that opens the long side of the forge. I have seen forges with doors on each end but not the door on the side or vice versa. So is there a forge with the three doors?

My town has a fair every fall and they have local crafts and vendors. My question is what would be a good list of items to have to sell that are fairly easy to make and can turn a good profit. How much extra should I take and should I if I can fire up my forge and let people watch me work. What has worked for you and what has not. Thanks!

I was mainly interisted because in the bible there are many references to a bow made of metal. So I was just curious as to what people thought and how it might work.

So what steel would be best?

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to make a long Bow out if metal I'm thinking of taking a leaf spring and filing it down into a bow. What are your thoughts?

I just had one of those aha moments or maybe a complete lack of logic. Would it be possible to some how mount a jackhammer and stabilize it and use it as a power hammer? Tell me what you think has anyone tried it?

I have been blacksmithing for about two years but I finally worked up the courage to try to make a knife. I welded some cable and was actually very suprises with the results from that I was talking with a guy from my work and he wants to buy a knife and he told me to suprises him on the style. So that being said what would you recomend what type of handle? And how do I get the damascus to come out? The pictures are of a knife I was just expirimenting with. Thanks!

Hello,
I am from the Kansas City metro area I am twenty years old. I have found a passion for blacksmithing and i have a good support group of smith that are teaching me the tricks of the trade. This forum has already helped me a lot. As of now I only have a 125lb trenton anvil I am still trying to acquire a forge and tools. I look forward to more learning and hopefully being able to shed some light in the future off what I have learned!

I am new to the site. I have been looking for a anvil for over a year this past weekend I happened to stumble across two which I bought. The first one is a 125lb trenton anvil which I paid $350 for the second one is a 250lb vulcan anvil which i paid $600 for. I am torn on which one I should keep or if I should keep them both. Let me hear your thoughts!
