  1. No weld marks inside hardy or pritchel....Has better rebound than my 200 fisher eagle

Price I paid was great. No complaints or regrets

I can bring both holes back if desired. but thinking I might leave it as is...since I have others.

i still can't figure how good the rebound is even after the new plate.

history didn't matter since is was checked out before purchase.

Looking forward to next project with it...

  2. I sent my brother...I will check the hole later...He really didn't know anything about it, according to my brother and conversations I had with him on phone. I responded to ad within a couple minutes of posting, then sent my brother to pick up so conversations weren't drawn out and I didn't pick his brain to much..but my brother thinks he just stumbled across it ...He got it cheaper, but I told him to keep the difference for going...It was a 1.5 hour drive on thanksgiving lol

  3. Yeah...odd since top plate "looked" like from side to be in good shape...it is currently listed in san diego craigslist...I bought last nite...someone else was talking about it on here aswell which is funny since the "shape" top plate was the discussion. Rebound is surprisingly good...I wasn't sure about it at first, but they some how preserved/created a rebound in the alteration.

  4. I actually bought that anvil...

If anyone wants a better look at it...

There is a hardy and pritchel on it, just seen on the underside

It looks like a good shaped anvil with a top plate steel welded on which is odd since anvil look like it seen little use....It was just a good weld job from a distance

    it weighs 223.5lbs

My bro went out to SD to get it for me.

  5. If anyone lives near san bernardino county and looking for steel...

I know a guy in phelan who gives decent prices on whats in his yards...

From diamond plate steel to angle iron is what I see over there...estimate. 1 piece of angle 3" x 3" by 7 to 10 feet in length about 10 bucks. I'm sorry about my measurements I don't know how to desribe the size...but its almost 1/4 thick too. More you buy the better the deal gets too.

  6. There's nothing wrong with being helpful. Unfortunately simply posting a list of Wiki "fact" is all too often just a load of opinion from folk with little or no actual knowledge. When Wiki information is actually correct it's often because the "contributor" simply cut and pasted information from a reliable source. It isn't because the "contributor" actually knows what they're talking about. Sites like Wiki have actually made reliable research much harder because searches hit on Wiki instead of reliable sites. Wiki isn't as bad as all the web marketing crud that is trying to anticipate things you might buy if they bombard you hard enough but it's still more nuisance than real help.

Seeing as the post directly preceding by 6 hrs. (so there is no chance of it being a simultaneous post) was from a person who worked in the industry producing both hot and cold rolled steel in steel mill quantity. Who is not only posting from established industry standard definitions but has on site, hands on experience. Posting the results of a Wiki search was just grandstanding to LOOK helpful. In truth over explaining a topic more often adds confusion than being helpful. I'm not saying the poster in question didn't think he was being helpful, this is a common misconception with new comers to any craft and youngsters especially. Intentions were good and I'm not faulting the intent, unfortunately they were completely redundant and from a questionable source.

Worse than posting questionable information just look how much bandwidth the following discussion is taking up. Can we PLEASE get back to blacksmithing?

    Frosty The Lucky.

Either way Frosty you sound like a total xxx for even commenting on my wiki post. which was meant to help..not for you to make yourself look good or smarter than everyone else with your outlook on life...could of just ignored the post...just a suggestion..but sure you have a fancy retort dying to come out any how.

insulting, name calling and profanity are not tolerated here,

    Wiki says

In metalworkingrolling is a metal forming process in which metal stock is passed through one or more pairs of rolls to reduce the thickness and to make the thickness uniform. The concept is similar to the rolling of dough. Rolling is classified according to the temperature of the metal rolled. If the temperature of the metal is above its recrystallization temperature, then the process is known ashot rolling. If the temperature of the metal is below its recrystallization temperature, the process is known as cold rolling. In terms of usage, hot rolling processes more tonnage than any other manufacturing process, and cold rolling processes the most tonnage out of allcold working processes.[1][2] Roll stands holding pairs of rolls are grouped together into rolling mills that can quickly process metal, typically steel, into products such as structural steel (I-beams, angle stock, channel stock, and so on), bar stock, and rails. Most steel millshave rolling mill divisions that convert the semi-finished casting products into finished products.

    But appreciate the effort.

Unfortunately...I don't see many pics or info on these...but then again. It comes down to "How you ask google" Sometimes Mr. Google is stingy on results...
