those are beautiful! my headers keep braking, and I really want to find one of those old, cast iron headers.

hi frosty. for a thirteen year old boy its pretty special. I got it made in Edmonton Alberta, by a company called Stampco. it was a very custom order!

I cant really tell, but in the pictures, it looks like the edges are very sharp. if you were to dress the anvil more, it could prevent more chipping even if hit directly.

205LB Fisher Eagle 1923
on 2 1/2" Thick -20" Dia. Steel Plate
on Some other steel stand type deal thing
I believe fisher anvils have a cast iron base.if you look at one of my anvils, its a Vulcan, and that is apparently the same as the fisher, but it is not as good because it doesn't have an as round of horn.

I saw some one on YouTube doing this but cant find the link.

wow... that is one thick plate! that would make one heck of a striking anvil. I would make sure that the plate sides are flush with the base so if your bending something 90 deg. the base won't be in the way.

Hello my name is Ethan and I am a 13 year old blacksmith with ambitious plans! I mostly do traditional blacksmithing and I really enjoy working with a striker. I received a 3 1/2lbs rounding hammer from Alec Steele and am enjoying it beyond description. I am slowly making the tools to make a hammer following the Brian Brazeal's tools to make tools curriculum. Eventually I would like to make a striking anvil and if anyone is open with advice on striking anvils or making rounding hammers please let me know.

my parents had to help me pay for it... I believe it was $350 or so, but we customized it allot. like having a round body with a hex head so it looked like my other punches.I am quiet proud of it!
