  1. Thanks for the advice, I like the metal band idea around the box i'm going to attempt to make. It's just going with my household goods, but in my mind I see them tumbling around in the container. Also they're small enough that they could grow legs walk away, so I wanted them out of sight as well. Thanks again, Dave
  2. It's that time again to move across the ocean and was wanting to get some ideas. Nothing heavier than 150, so maybe just make a box or small pallet or something? I was thinking of cutting up my benchtop which is a piece of 2'x8'x1" pressboard for box material. Also have a bunch of 2x4 wood scrap and flat bar to use. Any info is appreciated... Thanks, Dave

  8. Thanks for the link, looks like a blast! Haven't had goat for awhile, those guys look like the perfect size for the rotisserie. Still reading through it, nice job on the web page, looks like allot of work. Dave
  9. IronRoseFarms - Thanks, sounds nice to have some help around the shop, I can't wait. Right now one candle flame is pure entertainment for him. Frosty - Thanks for the pics, great looking babysitter as well. Looks like you have quite a few mouths to feed out there...
  10. Thanks! They were made for each other...
  11. Thanks to you I was able to find and get into the beginner classes at Grape Day Park that start on Wednesday. I'm trying to contact anybody out there, but do they provide/sell tools like hammers or goggles out there? Do I need to bring anything besides basic safety gear? Thanks for the help! Dave

  12. So much great info here, been on here reading when I can. I even found a beginning blacksmith course about 30mins away (thanks Dave English). Starts Wednesday night at Grape Day Park in Escondido, and I can't wait. I have a couple pieces of rail and truck parts for a forge, and been making some coal one log at a time. I can't do a whole lot at home anyways when the boss lady is at work and my 8month old is crawlin/cruisin doing whoknowswhat around the corner. I do have some newb questions I couldn't find, but figure i'd post here first... Thanks again, Dave
